He has a Masters in Supervisory Practice (MA) from the Dublin City University ( DCU) Seamus Sheedy is an accredited counsellor / psychotherapist and supervisor with the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). Seamus is also an Accredited member of Addiction Counsellors of Ireland (ACI). He has been an Associate Lecturer on the Degree in Addiction studies and The Counselling Degree in Athlone Institute of Technology( AIT ) and a Tutor with the Merchants Quay / University College Dublin (UCD) Diploma in Addiction Studies and Intervention Skills . Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach Séamus Sheedy works with a wide range of issues that can arise for individuals both within the workplace and in personal life. Many of these issues can lead to feelings of stress, anxiety, depression, panic, low self-esteem, confusion, relationship difficulties, or negative behavioral and thought patterns. Seamus is particularly interested in working on issues around addictions, anger ,relationships, self esteem He also works with couples and with therapy groups.
Our Clinical Directors Counselling / Psychotherapy Experience and Areas of Interest Seamus has worked with Merchants Quay Ireland, Ballymun Youth Action Project and Rehab and run a private practice since 1999 . Previous roles include working as Project Worker , Senior Aftercare Counsellor , Team Leader and Rehabilitation Counsellor .group supervisor and facilitator . Seamus Sheedy regularly runs a number of workshops for Schools, Community and the Workplace.
